Cindy Barringer is excited to make her debut at The Storefront Theatre after a long hiatus from the stage. Her love of theatre began in 4th grade when she discovered a dusty box in the school library filled with children’s plays.
The Storefront Theatre is a readers theater performance venue working together to change our community through the delight of humorous, dramatic, emotional and impactful stories written and performed by local actors and playwrights.
After reading for hours, she asked her teacher if she and some friends could produce a play for the class. The teacher agreed to the request two times that year–allowing for rehearsals during class time (keep the arts in school!). Cindy directed and in true Diva form cast herself as the leads! Performances were held for all the classes K-4 and Cindy became smitten by the world of theatre. Many years later as an adult, she first returned to the stage atCPCC Theatre and went on to perform locally at Theatre Charlotte, Old Courthouse Theatre, Matthews Theatre, Epic Arts Repertory, and Cape Fear Regional. Favorite roles include Sylvia in Sylvia, Maggie in Lend Me a Tenor, Honey in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Margie in State Fair and her most favorite Aldonza/Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha. She is grateful to Judy for allowing her to play again.
