Melvin Faris’ Biography

Melvin Faris is retired from the Union County Sheriff’s Office after serving as a Deputy Sheriff for 32 years. He has performed for Storefront Theatre in Benedictions, Love Letters, 1963, Maw-Maw’s House of Talent, Nuptials, God’s Man in Texas, and Tweaks.

The Storefront Theatre is a readers theater performance venue working together to change our community through the delight of humorous, dramatic, emotional and impactful stories written and performed by local actors and playwrights. 

He has been seen as Ebenezer Scrooge in several presentations of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol: An Adaptation for Three Voices. He lives in Monroe and enjoys traveling all over the world with his wife, Dr. Grace Faris, as well as reading and collecting classic motion picture memorabilia. He is also fond of cats. He is delighted to, once again, perform with his old Parkwood Drama Club pal, Judy Simpson Cook.
